Our Mission

We are a student-run nonprofit organization aiming to improve healthcare accessibility for underserved communities. A variety of experiences including coursework in medical humanities and personal experiences volunteering at free clinics and hospitals have sparked our passion to take concrete action to address social determinants of health.

What Brings You Here?

  • How do Link's services work?
If we meet you at a health fair, we will do blood pressure and glucose screenings. If you do not have a doctor, we will connect you with one, regularly following up on the phone to make sure that you are able to make an appointment and receive follow-up services afterwards. If you are referred to us by another organization, we will set up a phone call with you to talk to you about what your healthcare needs are. Based on that, we will connect you with a doctor who can help meet them and continue following up regularly to answer any questions you may have.
  • Are Link's services free?
Yes! Link provides completely free services.
  • How long will it take to be connected to a doctor?
This may vary depending on what type of care you need, but our goal is to connect you to a doctor within 4 weeks at the most.
  • Do I need to have insurance to access Link's services?
No, this is not a requirement. We have contacts with clinics/doctors who do not require insurance and can connect you with them for care. We are also partnered with organizations who can help you file for the Harris Health Financial Assistance Program (Gold Card).
